Julie Pollard
Head Trainer & Manager
Since her earliest years, Julie has had a passion for horses. Blossoming from a young rider, to an up-and-comer, to a fierce competitor – she knows what it takes to perform in the ring. With over three decades of experience in riding and horse care, she and has lead Bow Canyon Equestrian for 15 years —a centre renowned for its commitment to exceptional training, top-tier horse care, and facility management.

Julie takes pride in helping her students advance their riding skills while fostering mutual respect for both horses and one another.​ Julie coaches the advanced level riders.

Chantelle Durnford
Assistant Trainer
Chantelle has been an integral part of the Bow Canyon Equestrian team since July 2018, bringing over 15 years of teaching experience to our riders.
As an accomplished rider, Chantelle has been training horses for 17 years and has competed successfully up to the 1.20m level.

At Bow Canyon, Chantelle is a seasoned instructor working with riders of all levels. She also provides professional training rides for client and sales horses, helping them develop to their full potential.

Devan Ackerman
Assistant Trainer
Originally from Regina, SK, Devan moved to Calgary in 2020 to advance her career in the equestrian industry and joined Bow Canyon Equestrian. A lifelong horse enthusiast, she discovered her passion for show jumping at age 9.
Devan manages the school horse program, mentors beginner riders, coaches advanced students, and trains client and sales horses.
Candice Bruinsma
Barn Manager
Candice has been the Barn Manager at Bow Canyon Equestrian since September 2019, overseeing daily operations and ensuring the smooth running of our facility. Her responsibilities include managing barn staff, coordinating horse feeding and care, and maintaining high standards of health and well-being for all the horses at Bow Canyon.​
Sue Allen
Administration Manager
Sue is the backbone of Bow Canyon Equestrian’s administrative operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Sue’s expertise with spreadsheets and meticulous attention to detail keep the financial and administrative aspects of the business on track.​​
